Q. Some sites can be 'grabbed' however saving the info seems to be blocked.
If I try to print the list, I get a message 'printing not allowed in demo
version'. Is the unlock code not functioning here?
A. Each Grabber is sold as US or Canadian. See “What is the difference
between US and Canadian versions?”
-
Q. What is the difference between US and Canadian versions?
A. Non US decoding keys will be disabled in US version. Canadian version
includes Canadian and UK decoding keys. Other decoding keys are available upon
request and are subject for additional charge in some cases.
-
Q. Why can’t I get all the decoding keys unlocked with purchase of the
Grabber?
A. Due to a significant effort in supporting bug free operation of decoding
keys and due to the fact that all the upgrades of this software are free we
made a decision to limit number of decoding keys that are included in the basic
packages. This allows maintaining low cost of the software.
-
Q. How can I distinguish between blocked and unlocked decoding keys?
A. Unblocked decoying keys have red hand icon in front of them, other with
grey lock icon are locked.
-
Q. I don't understand the local Google version and what you can grab from
that?
A. US and Canadian Google offers a new feature that delivers yellow pages
like results. It is called “Google Local”. Google users from other countries
can not see this section.
-
Q. I tried to enter my own http:// addresses, just to see whether other
sites can be grabbed. It says: 'feature disabled'. On your website you
advertise that one can enter all websites (with the right key)
A. What we really advertise is that a decoding key can be developed for any
website. We charge standard $84US fee for developing a decoding key, including
ongoing support of it*. You can use own decoding keys with our software as
well.
-
Q. It looks like some websites stop responding and even block your
software.
A. Yes it is true. Some websites do that after detecting “hammering attack”
from a single IP address. You can avoid that by entering proxy servers via
“Settings” menu. More proxy servers you enter better results you will get.
-
Q. Where can I find proxy servers and how to use them with Grabber?
You can find lots of free proxy servers at http://www.publicproxyservers.com.
Unfortunately very few of them work, that is why we recommend using "check proxy" button before adding it to list.
The steps for adding a new proxy would be:
- Open “Program Settings” dialog via View -> Settings menu.
- Switch to “Connections” section.
- Enter http address into “Host IP” and “Host Port” fields.
- Enter user name and password for this proxy server if required.
- Click [check] button to see if proxy server is alive.
- Add this proxy into “available proxies” list.
- Promote proxy from “available proxies” list into “proxies in use” list using [^] button.
